ARMED POLICE STORM CENTRE AFTER TWO STABBED

Armed police stormed a mental health centre and arrested knifeman in his pants after two men were stabbed.

One man was stabbed in his chest, stomach and arm, with the other was stabbed in the arm, leg, chest and stomach.

A witness said the suspect was led out of the Bracton Centre in Dartford “in his pants, handcuffed and surrounded by armed police” on Sunday morning.

His victims “received serious injuries consistent with a stabbing” and were taken to King’s College Hospital by air ambulance.

Firefighters were also called at the same time to a fire in the building and it was brought under control within half an hour.

Three fire engines responded to the 999 call and used a pressure fan to clear the smoke.

Investigators are examining the cause of the fire at the centre run by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and whether it was related to the stabbings.

The knifeman has been remanded in custody, and police are not looking for anyone else.
