Man killed in M18 crash

By Lauren Grice

A man has been killed in a collision involving multiple vehicles on the M18 in south Yorkshire.

The victim, who is thought to be in his 50s, was hit by traffic after stepping out of his vehicle following a crash on the motorway.

He was knocked down by an oncoming vehicle, which led to a multi-car pileup on the roadway.

As a result of the accident, the southbound carriageway on the M18 has been closed between junctions two and three.

This created massive tailbacks and congestion in the area, and drivers were advised to alter their routes accordingly.

The incident took place shortly after 7am on Friday (February 8th) and no other motorists were injured.

The fatal crash comes shortly after a 35-year-old man from Carlton-in-Lindrick sustained life-threatening injuries after being involved in a vehicle collision while driving on the A60.
