Post: Top 5 Findings about Online Bingo Players by OhMyBingo

OhMyBingo.com, (prfire.co.uk) an online bingo comparison and review site, conducted a survey of UK bingo players and reveals the findings in an infographic starring Karen, a 38 year old bingo player from Newcastle.

Online bingo comparison and review site  OhMyBingo.com recently carried out a survey to better understand the typical online bingo customer’s playing habits and preferences.

OhMyBingo carried out an extensive survey and displayed the results in an infographic, available here: http://www.ohmybingo.com/online-bingo-sites-infographic.  The top 5 findings though, were:

1 – The bingo demographic is widening – online bingo has rocketed in popularity over the last few years and the demographic has stretched to include younger women and many men.  Gone are the days of blue rinse old ladies being the only ones that fancy a game of bingo.

2 – Winning little and often is the key to enjoyment – 62% of players like to play where there are lower ticket prices with smaller jackpots. New bingo sites such as Showreel Bingo, part of 15 Network and sitting on Jumpman Gaming software, offer a mixture of free bingo and pay-games with tickets from as little as 2p. Customers stated that they preferred the low entry price-point while accepting a lower jackpot, rather than spending more to play a bingo game, even if it had a larger prize pool.

3 – 7/10 play more in the afternoon than morning – the afternoons seems to be a second peak during the day, in addition to the expected evening peak.  Perhaps customers have spare time as children are attending school and daily chores have been completed – perfect to enjoy a spot of online bingo.  Operators such as Lights Camera Bingo have more rooms open later in the afternoon when compared to the morning schedule, as customer levels warrant the additional jackpots.

4 – Deposits are higher towards the end of the month – the survey showed that 35% of players deposit up to £30 in a week and more deposits are made towards the end of the month – commonly referred to as ‘pay day’. Robin Hood Bingo is well known for their pay-day promotion where players can win a £10,000 jackpot on the last day of each month.

5 – Cash is king – the majority of the players said they’d prefer to win cash rather than a prize as they have the flexibility to spend their winnings where they want.  Players stated that winning a physical prize can be fantastic, especially if it’s something they really want, however the disappointment of winning a prize that isn’t needed/wanted superseded this as cash alternatives were often lower than the prize value or not available.
