A drink driver was FOUR TIMES over the legal limit when he smashed through a school playground wall – seconds before the children were due to go out and play.
Wreckless Graham Stewart Thompson, 55, ploughed through the primary school gates last Thursday morning, before spinning around the playground and smashing into a wall.
The crash happened at around 10am – just minutes before children as young as four were due to be sent out for their morning break at Barcombe Primary School in East Sussex.
Thompson, of Barcombe, was jailed for three months after pleading guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court last Friday.
He was also disqualified from driving for 60 months.
Thompson had been charged with driving with 121mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system – more than four times the legal limit of 35mg.
