Police say the death of a two-year-old girl who was airlifted to hospital in an emergency at the weekend is not suspicious.
The alert was raised by the ambulance service after they were called to an address in Kingsbridge, Devon on Thursday evening.
The Devon Air Ambulance and the National Police Helicopter were also scrambled but the child was pronounced dead after arriving at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
Kingsbridge Police left a message of condolence on their Facebook page and published a link to a charity providing support for sudden infant death.
It said: “On behalf of all the emergency services involved, we would like to offer our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the family of this young girl involved in this tragic incident.
“If anyone has been affected by the death of a child, you can receive support via www.lullabytrust.org.uk”
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
