POLICE WATCHDOG INVESTIGATE DEATH OF MAN IN CUSTODY

The police watchdog is investigating the death of a man in custody.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission says it is investigating Gloucestershire Constabulary following death of man near Lydbrook., Glos.

An IPCC spokesman said a man in his 50s died while in the custody of police in the Forest of Dean at around 11pm on Wednesday.

The death occurred after officers were called to an incident at a business park.

IPCC investigators were deployed following notification of the incident and have today been overseeing post incident procedures.

A post mortem is ongoing, and formal identification is yet to take place. The man was believed to be driving a black Range Rover Sport prior to the incident
