Jordan and EU to Translate Partnership into Projects at April Investment Conference

On 21 April, Jordan will host the Jordan–EU Investment Conference 2026 at the Dead Sea, under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will attend, along with senior European and international officials and investors.

The wider region is going through a difficult period. Jordan’s political stability and measured approach to economic governance distinguish it from its neighbours and support its case as a reliable location for European investment.

The conference will put forward a structured pipeline of projects in water security, green energy, digital infrastructure, and strategic minerals. These are sectors that Jordan has identified as priorities under its Economic Modernisation Vision, and the projects are prepared to a standard that allows investor discussions to begin.

A European financial package of €3 billion backs the conference. It will be deployed through instruments that lower the risk profile of investments and reduce the time between agreement and project start. The package flows directly from the Jordan–EU Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership.

Jordan’s place in regional trade adds a further dimension. The country acts as a link between supply chains stretching across the region and into global markets, supported by trade agreements that cover more than 140 countries.

Minister of Investment, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, said: “The Conference is focused on presenting investors with clearly defined, executable opportunities that enable direct engagement in high-value projects within a stable and competitive business environment. It is designed to facilitate partnerships and translate opportunities into tangible investments.”

He added: “The Conference will serve as a results-oriented platform, featuring sector-specific tracks and structured business engagements, including B2B and G2B meetings, aimed at accelerating investment flows and strengthening private–public collaboration.”

EU Ambassador Pierre-Christophe Chatzizavas highlighted: “We are proud to announce the EU-Jordan Investment Conference, a high-level event marked by the participation of Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. This signals the strength and resilience of our partnership, especially in times of regional uncertainty. The conference marks the start of a renewed, elevated collaboration that will bring our business communities closer together and unlock new opportunities, stimulating greater EU investment in Jordan’s dynamic economy.”

The conference reflects the steady direction Jordan has set for itself. With His Majesty King Abdullah II leading the way, the Kingdom continues to press ahead with its economic plans and reinforces its standing as a regional hub for investment and sustainable development.
