AS the festive season approaches, The Forestry Commission’s National Arboretum is preparing for the return of its flagship winter event – the stunning Enchanted Christmas trail.

For many visitors this much-anticipated event is an annual family outing that kick-starts their Christmas festivities with a walk underneath the dramatically lit tree canopy. It takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening from the last weekend of November until the weekend before Christmas, and is pushchair and wheelchair friendly.

With a host of interactive features along the trail, Christmas themed entertainment, festive goodies, classic carols, enchanting stilt walkers, seasonal crafts and a traditional children’s carousel, there is plenty to keep visitors of all ages entertained.

Simon Hough, Recreation Manager, said:

“This enchanting event is Westonbirt’s official countdown to Christmas and we’re excited that our visitors can celebrate this magical season with us again this year. The incredible illuminations are not to be missed and are made all the more special with the warming scents of mulled wine, toffee apples and roasted chestnuts filling the chilly evening air. We’re looking forward to seeing Father Christmas and his festive elves again, who will be joining us from 5pm each evening and Mrs Christmas will be telling festive stories for the first time this year. We hope to see many new and returning faces again when the event opens on 27 November.”

The Enchanted Christmas trail opens between 27 November and 20 December from 5pm, with last entry to the car park at 7pm.

Due to such popular demand, Saturday evenings will be online booking only and no tickets will be available on the day.
