Here’s a bit more about the people behind our site:
Andrew Young – Editor
Overseeing countless major stories that have spawned over a career more than three decades long, our editor Andrew became one of the UK’s youngest ever staff reporters when he landed a job on the Today newspaper during the mid-80s. With news in his veins and being the son of the great Daily Mirror journalist Syd Young, Andrew is now a director at news agency SWNS.
Paul Andrews – Deputy News Editor
After working as a news and celebrity journalist in the uber-glamorous Los Angeles with Pacific Coast News, our deputy news editor Paul has returned to News Today where he is a deputy news editor. Also working at SWNS, Paul runs a team of hard-working reporters that span the length and breadth of the UK.
John Coles – Associate News Editor
Associate news editor John kicked off his career in journalism when he was with news agency SWNS in its’ earliest days over 30 years ago. During this time he’s had the honor of working with some major newspaper titles including the Daily Express and The Sun, both as district and head office reporters.
Laura Elvin – Senior Reporter
After originally starting her journalism career at local paper the Leicester Mercury, Laura moved to Bristol to become a senior reporter at SWNS. She now runs the ‘Sell Us Your Story’ website, gathering different stories and undertaking general reporting and copywriting duties.
Izzy Ferris – Reporter
Our new reporter Izzy started doing work experience at SWNS when she was just 14-years-old. Needless to say, she’s a pretty brainy one! She chose not to attend university after finishing schools and joined the SWNS team full time instead. Working in the Bristol office, Izzy is one of our main reporters.
