Police in Dundee have launched an appeal for information after a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted last night (February 20th).
Tayside Police have urged the public to get in touch regarding the attack, which took place in the Charleston area of the city at around 11.20pm.
The victim was in a small wooded area on South Road when she was approached by a man, thought to be in his 20s, who proceeded to sexually assault her.
Leaving his victim unhurt but extremely distressed, he then ran up a pathway in the direction of Menzieshill.
A spokesperson for Tayside Police said: “Police enquiries began at the scene last night and are continuing today, with offices carrying out further forensic examination at the scene and door to door enquiries. A review of CCTV coverage is also underway.”
The attacker is described as “smelling dirty” with a stocky build and a height of around five feet ten inches. He was wearing a black hooded top, black shoes and black trousers at the time of the incident.
Members of the public with information relevant to the case are urged to get in touch with Tayside Police on 101 or via their local officer.
