MAN GETS BODY FAT DOWN TO EIGHT PER CENT BY GORGING ON JUNK FOOD

The UK’s top competitive eater claims he got the ripped body he always dreamed of – by gorging on a 10,000 calorie junk food meal once every week.

Adam Moran, 30, once sported an impressive beer belly and set of love handles but swapped them for a completely toned physique.

And he claims he would not have been able to achieve his honed physique without gorging on junk food.

He said: “I started doing meal challenges when I wanted to get really ripped because it helps you loose weight.

“When you diet for a long period of time your body gets to a point where it won’t loose any more weight.

“That’s why bodybuilders have ‘cheat meals’ because it helps their bodies recover with all the protein.

“It also gives you energy to want to go and train and without it I wouldn’t have got the body I wanted.”

Adam sliced his body fat from an unhealthy 25 per cent down to just eight per cent even though he takes part in huge stomach stretching food challenges every week.

These include eating 155 McDonald’s chicken nuggets in under 50 minutes, an unofficial world record.

And last month he treated his thousands of YouTube subscribers to a video of him eating the world’s biggest English breakfast, which weighed a massive 16.5lb.

Beard lover Adam said: “When you diet for so long you learn to eat a lot of food but not necessarily bad food.

“That is how you develop your capacity. I was always an overweight kid and started weight training when I was around 25.

“I wasn’t in shape and wanted to get ripped and like the way I looked. I went to the gym six times a week for two hours at a time.

“I train all my muscles twice a week, except my legs. I’ve got my body fat down to around eight per cent.”

Adam’s current physique is a far cry from how he looked five years ago.

He said: “I used to weight around 13 stone now I’m about 11 and a half.

“I haven’t actually lost that much weight but I’ve lost a lot of fat and replaced that with muscle so I’ve made a big difference to my body.

“I’m a qualified personal trainer so I know that things that I can do and get away with.

“For instance if you’re training you can get away with having a binge once a week and it not affecting you.

“If your maintenance calories are 3,500 and you eat 10,000 in one sitting you have to allow for that.

“When I’m not in a competition I eat healthily and only have one meal a day.”

Despite his ripped physique, Adam reveals he hardly ever does cardio exercise.

When he has a big competition ahead of him he might do 30 minutes gentle exercise on a cross trainer but apart from that he opts for weight and one meal a day.

This normally consists of 3,500 calories and includes vegetables, 1kg of yoghurt, four wheatabix, jelly, peanut butter and four of pieces of fresh white fish.

Adam claims that despite what many people think, eating challenges are not bad for your health.

He said: “I understand nutrition and what you can and cannot eat. When you know what you can get away with it means that you can do challenges like this and it have no negative affect on your body.

“I’m not eating this food every day and the rest of the time I’m healthy so my inside’s are clean.”

Adam lives with his girlfriend Lindsey Wood, 25 in Leeds.
