TEENAGE SWEETHEARTS APPEAR IN COURT CHARGED OVER DOUBLE MURDER

Two teenagers appeared in court today (mon) charged with the murder of a mother and her young daughter.

The boy and girl, both aged 14, are accused of murdering school dinner lady Elizabeth Edwards, 49, and her 13-year-old daughter Katie.

The bodies of the mum-of-two and her daughter were found at their home in Spalding, Lincs, on Friday afternoon.

They had both suffered stab wounds.

Yesterday the two teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Lincoln’s magistrates’ court.

District judge Peter Veits remanded the pair in youth custody ahead of a hearing at Lincoln Crown court at 2pm today (mon).

Neither of the defendants said anything during the brief five minute hearing.

The girl wore a grey prison top, jeans and black rimmed glasses.

She bowed her head for the entire hearing.

The boy wore a navy blue top and trousers.
