NORFOLK POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH OF “EXTREMELY WELL-LIKED, TALENTED” TEENAGE GIRL

Tributes were paid yesterday (Thu) to an “extremely well-liked, talented teenage girl” who has died suddenly.

Police were called to an address in Hopton, Norfolk, where the girl, named locally as Jessica Collins, was confirmed deceased.

Rob Sherington, principal of the Cliff Park Ormiston Academy in Gorleston, Norfolk, where she was a pupil, said: “All of our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Jessica’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.

“Jessica was an extremely well-liked, talented girl, and we all already miss her terribly.

“I know I speak for everyone in saying that we will always remember Jessica with great fondness, and the outstanding contribution she has made to our school.”

The head said that students had already set up a fund in memory of Jessica and were planning to wear pink roses or ribbons at Saturday’s sports dinner in Jessica’s honour.

Friends also took to Facebook to pay tribute to Jessica.

Amy Swain said: “R.I.P beautiful, you didn’t deserve this. Fly high.”

The Ormiston Academies Trust, which runs the school, added “We wrote to parents yesterday at the end of the school day and held assemblies yesterday to inform the students.

“We are doing everything we can to support them. We express our deepest sympathy and shock.”

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
