CARRYING a bag full of irons and woods around a golf course could be a thing of the past thanks to this 33 in 1 club – which is sure to be a caddies dream.
The revolutionary golf club adjusts to 33 different lofts and angles to transform into putters, drivers, woods, irons AND wedges.
The first-of-its-kind device features a gear inside the heel which tilts the head to allow for more than twice the allowable number of clubs in one hand.
It might come as a welcome move for the likes of European golf legend Ian Woosnam who was famously deducted shots in the 2001 Open after his caddy Miles Byrne was caught carrying too many clubs.
The 33-in-1 club tilts the head in 1/2-loft increments, allowing golfers to choose from five putters, two drivers, three fairway woods, 14 irons, or nine wedges with the turn of a dial.
The club has the look and feel of a classic iron but its adjustable head quickly transforms it from a 64 degree super lob wedge for carrying bunkers to a perfectly vertical putter for saving par.
“Not only does The 33-In-1 Golf Club eliminate the need to shoulder a heavy golf bag, but it retracts to only 19 inch-long for ease of portability during travel or on the golf course,” explained Hammacher Schlemmer’s General Manager, Fred Berns.
The clubhead is made from 17-4 stainless steel—the same durable material used in professional metalwoods—and the shaft and clubhead lock into place to provide the same feel and response as a traditional club.
One customer and keen golfer Ian Findlay, 60, from Luton, Beds, said: “When you start to get on a bit, it can be a bit taxing carrying all these clubs around.
“But this is ideal for me – I’m not the greatest golfer in the world but with all the walking I do around a course, it offers a bit of a respite for me.
“But it is taking a bit of a short-cut. I don’t think it will ever catch on in the modern game but it is one hell of a gadget.”
The 33-In-1 Golf Club is available from Hammacher Schlemmer for USD199.95/GBP123.
