A three foot snake was spotted by a very surprised postman as he stopped to drop off some mail.
The roving reptile, believed to be a corn snake, was discovered outside Shelly Malone’s home in Scarborough, North Yorks.
She explained: “I heard the postman deliver the mail then he came back and knocked on the door to tell me there was a snake outside the house.
“I couldn’t believe it.”
Postie, Steve Brook-Smith, who happened upon the odd beast at around lunchtime on Friday, initially thought it was a toy.
It has since been removed by the RSPCA.
