A GROUP of primary school children found a dead body as they started their first day of their Easter Holidays.
In scenes remiscent of the Stephen King classic ‘Stand By Me’, the children discovered the body of a man under some bushes in Wolverhampton on Monday morning.
The boy was playing with a group of friends when he made the grim discovery in a clump of trees and bushes at Coronation Park, Bradley, around 4pm on Saturday.
Police sealed off the spot, which was down a steep bank, for several hours before the body was removed shortly after 9pm.
It is believed to have been there for some time.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said the death was being treated as unexplained.
He said: “It would appear that the man, who is yet to be identified, had been there for some time. He is believed to be aged around 30 years old.”
The spokesman added that a post-mortem examination would be conducted in due course but said police were not looking for anybody else in connection with the death at the moment.
