Wrapping paper thats not just for Christmas

IT’S the wrapping paper that you wont have to store in your loft until next Christmas.

This universal wrapping paper is perfect for every occasion with a wordsearch design with an amazing 20 different messages to simply circle in order to suit an array of different events and milestones.

So it could mean the end of the over-stacked gift paper drawer found in many households and the problem of wrapping Christmas presents in last years Birthday roll.

It is so popular that it has already sold out online since going on sale in February this year.

Italian designers Fabio Milito, 35, and Francesca Guidotti, 32, came up with the idea of a universal wrap after the festive season in January.

“We realised we couldn’t use wrapping paper with Christmas decorations for a birthday or any different occasion,” said Fabio.

“So we tried to solve two practical problems, create a “passe par tout” wrap and eliminate the need of a gift card reducing both waste of paper and time.

“The word search game solution came naturally and resulted immediately amusing to us.”

They say the recipient will discover, as well as the gift itself, how wrapping a present can be as fun as receiving it.

The pair, who started the Wordless project began at the beginning of the year, have been working together for seven years since they met during their design studies.

Francesca, from Modena, Italy, said: “For any project we work on, the only satisfying solution for us is the one that joins simplicity with irony.

“We like to share our projects with people that don’t do our job and of different ages.

“Inspiring answers often come from people not involved in design who give opinions based on their own habits.

“With the universal wrap we realised that everybody was able to immediately understand its use as well as perceiving its emotional charge, linked to the game and to memories.”

The pair say they are delighted, and a little surprised, by the success of their wrapping paper and have begun developing a whole range of Wordless products to join the paper in a word search based range.

“Our goal is to have fun while we work, trying to make people’s habits more enjoyable through simple objects,” added Fabio.

The universal wrap is produced in 50x70cm and 100x70cm 100g writable paper, its letters’ decorative pattern hide 20 different celebrations/occasions that can be circled when needed, removing the need to attach a card to any present.

But don’t worry if you’ve never been great with word searches, the possible variations are printed on the inside of the paper to help you find your message.

The possible messages on the wrapping paper are:

MERRY CHRISTMAS / HAPPY BIRTHDAY / HAPPY VALENTINES DAY / HAPPY EASTER / HAPPY THANKSGIVING / I LOVE YOU / I MISS YOU / HAPPY NAMEDAY / CONGRATULATIONS / HAPPY RETIREMENT / RECOVER SOON / GREETINGS / WITH LOVE / YOU ARE THE BEST / FOR DAD / FOR MOM / ENJOY / ALL THE BEST / IT IS NOT A TIE / IT IS NOT A PERFUME.
